AMSC

History

Thus, AMSC is an annual convention of the Asian Medical Students' Association (AMSA International) with participation of more than 400 medical students from Australia , Hong Kong , Indonesia , Japan , Korea , Malaysia , Papua New Guinea , Taiwan , the Philippines and Thailand.

It comprises of three main aspects, which are: academic, cultural and social programs. This event allows medical students from all AMSA countries to get together to discuss and present their projects and research which were conducted based on the theme agreed upon for that year. In addition, delegates can also experience different traditions and customs through the cultural events organized throughout the conference.

Most importantly, the conference is an opportunity for students to network and build lifelong friendships with future doctors across Asia, regardless of nations, ethnicity and race.

Throughout the years, AMSC had changed the lives of many and contributed substantially to the development of medical students in this region. It encourages medical students to think out of their text books, to challenge them to be proactive and to speak out, to cultivate social awareness and to help them grow and become a balanced doctor who practices the science as well as the art of medicine.

The conference is now held annually in July/August each year, and is hosted by various countries.
