http://www.iomcworld.com/2010
March 6 & 7, 2010

IOMC 2010 is the 3rd International Online Medical Conference which will take place on March 6 & 7, 2010. Building upon the success of previous IOMC conferences, IOMC 2010 aims to provide a forum for discussing and presenting research findings, studies, and experiences in the field of medicine, to create an opportunity for medical researchers, activists, scientists, students, and specialists to meet each other online and share their research papers, and to provide a chance to find new research colleagues and partners for future research works.

Authors are invited to submit papers related to one of the conference themes.

All conference accepted papers will be published in Conference Proceedings E-Book and/or indexed Journals.

IOMC will take place completely online. This is what makes IOMC quite different from ever-introduced and held conferences. IOMC has already held two successful conference in 2008 and 2009.

The online nature of IOMC saves the conference participants from paying extra costs of travel, accommodation, and visa. Instead, conference participants can simply register to the conference and log in to conference website in order to attend different conference presentations and workshops online, and use the conference portal to easily interact with presenters and other participants.

Apart form normal presentations by accepted authors, there will be professional online workshops and key-note speeches by renowned professors and experts during the conference days for the participants to attend.

Copenhangen School of Global Health - Summer School

http://globalhealth.ku.dk/courses/details/non-communicable_diseases/

May 17 - June 11

"The lives of far too many people in the world are being blighted and cut short by chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, chronic lung disease and diabetes. This is no longer only happening in the high-income countries. Four out of five chronic disease deaths today are in low and middle income countries. People in these countries tend to develop the disease at younger ages, suffer longer - often with preventable complications - and die sooner than those in high income countries."
Dr. Lee Jong-wook, Director General of the World Health Organization 2003 - 2006, died 61 years old from a blood clot in his brain.

"We cannot afford to say, ‘we must tackle other diseases first - HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis - then we will deal with chronic diseases'. If we wait even 10 years we will find that the problem is even larger and more expensive to address."
Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The University of Copenhagen is offering an intensive course on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) to professionals working in or aiming at a career in the field. The course covers the main aspects of NCD prevention and control with special focus on global and national strategies. Upon completion of the course, participants will have strengthened their capacity to become better planners, managers, trainers and implementers of NCD programmes and integrated NCD care and prevention activities.

Application deadline for this course is 29 April 2010 for Danish residents and 16 April 2010 for international students.

AMSA Intl Students will have FREE course fees.

Silhouette 2010 Convention: GLOBAL HEALTH AND MEDICINE

http://www.imsa.co.in/silhouette2010/index.php

May 23-25, 2010

Even as the 16,000 odd students graduate every year in India from medical colleges across the length and breadth of the country, a lack of unifying force has been constantly felt. We don’t as yet have a common background where we can meet and discuss our issues, talk about our problems, show our talents or vent our creativity out at all together!

This year, as the second decade of this millennium starts, we invite you all to the flagship conference of the organization being held at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences, Indore: an intended all and all melting pot that defines the Indian Medical Students. From hardcore academic and research oriented activities to interesting key-note lectures, from medical colleges fielding their bands against each other: the IMSA Warrior Challenge, it will be here.

With change being the Keyword in the countries across the world, let us all come together and stand for the progression in the way medical Students are perceived and let us show, what we are capable of.
